We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Technical System who will be the subject matter expert in Operational Technology and Applications Management. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that maximum value is achieved by the customers of IS&T in the operational use/support of the technical systems that supports the mining, processing, supply chain logistics, inventory management processes and other supporting operational and scheduling systems.
Reporting to the Superintendent Technical Systems Engineering and working in a collaborative and exciting environment within our IS&T function, you will:
• Play a pivotal role in maintaining, supporting and improving Operation Technology Systems.
• Minor Works – Design, develop, and implement complex software components and improvements to existing Technical Systems to deliver value to stakeholders and attend to expansion projects and other minor works.
• Provide valuable advice to managers and other staff members, assisting in the development of practical solutions to challenging problems.
• Maintain and improve integration and application reference architectures and supporting frameworks.
• Contribute to the governance of systems changes to the existing OT Systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Furthermore, the specialist contributes to internal and external communications, providing insights on scope architecture, performance, capacity, and capabilities essential for supporting business processes.
• Provide technical consultation and drive the development of integrated technical systems solutions. Review requirements specifications, detailed design specifications, test plans, test results, estimates and user documentation for solution coverage and completeness.
What you’ll bring
To be considered for this role, you will have:
• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
• Subject Matter Expert and Technical Knowledge in Rio Tinto Operation Technology – Technical Systems.
• Experience maintaining and developing using DevExpress and Database Systems Supported by XPO.
• Substantial experience in maintaining complex applications and data platforms preferably with large-scale and diverse organisations.
• Practical experience with managing multi-vendor, support and solution delivery teams.
• Demonstrable collaboration, coaching and communication skills, particularly with highly technical teams.
• Tertiary qualification or higher in IT or related degree, or relevant experience.
It will also be beneficial if you have:
• Qualifications in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and/or Agile Frameworks (e.g., SCRUM).
• Knowledge of end-to-end Rail, Mining and Port operations business process.
