Nous recherchons un Conseiller(ère) sénior en gestion des coûts pour coordonner des systèmes de contrôle de projet efficaces (estimation, planification et gestion des coûts), afin de prévoir et suivre les coûts des projets souterrains à Kennecott à toutes les étapes du cycle de vie du projet.

Il s'agit d'un rôle professionnel qui permet de contribuer en appliquant des connaissances techniques/professionnelles pour résoudre des problèmes complexes et recommander des solutions, tout en contribuant à l'amélioration des processus. C'est une excellente opportunité de mettre en valeur votre leadership en tant qu'expert en la matière, d'implémenter les meilleures pratiques, de travailler dans un environnement d'équipe collaboratif et de fournir des orientations aux équipes interfonctionnelles.

Sous la responsabilité du Responsable du contrôle de projet et en travaillant au sein d'une communauté collaborative, vous serez amené(e) à :

  • Créer, maintenir et rendre compte des prévisions de projet et d'autres données de contrôle de projet.
  • Identifier les opportunités d'amélioration pour rationaliser les processus de travail liés au contrôle de projet.
  • Coordonner l'élaboration des comptes de contrôle de projet et du budget.
  • Coordonner la mise en place et l'émission des rapports de coûts, y compris les courbes de contrôle des coûts.
  • Coordonner l'élaboration de la procédure de gestion des risques et des imprévus.
  • Coordonner la mise en œuvre d'un processus de gestion des imprévus et des changements efficace.
  • Coordonner la mise en place et l'implémentation des pratiques de mesure de l'avancement du projet.
  • Coordonner le développement des prévisions finales des coûts (FFC) et l'identification proactive des risques et des mesures d'atténuation.
  • Coordonner la conformité avec les processus, systèmes et outils standardisés.
  • Gérer la relation avec les parties prenantes du contrôle de projet en interne et avec les partenaires contractuels.
  • Maintenir des relations internes avec les groupes d'approvisionnement et d'estimation pour assurer l'exactitude des tendances actuelles.
  • Analyser et rendre compte de manière proactive des variations budgétaires et des coûts.
  • Fournir un soutien technique aux parties prenantes du projet.
  • Utiliser les lignes directrices et protocoles de contrôle de projet dans le cadre des projets d'investissement.

Ce que vous apporterez

Pour réussir dans ce rôle, vous devrez posséder :

  • Un diplôme universitaire en génie ou dans une discipline liée aux affaires, ou une autre combinaison d'études et d'expérience sera prise en compte.
  • Un minimum de 10 ans d'expérience en tant que contrôleur des coûts de projet et dans des projets de construction d'envergure.
  • Une expérience préalable avec un entrepreneur EPC ou EPCM de premier niveau est un atout.
  • Des compétences démontrées en gestion des coûts, ainsi qu'une bonne compréhension de la planification, de l'estimation, des activités de gestion des risques, dans un environnement de gestion de projet.
  • De solides compétences interpersonnelles, avec la capacité de travailler avec toutes les parties prenantes et les entrepreneurs.
  • Capacité à travailler dans des environnements exigeants et à maintenir des compétences efficaces en gestion du temps.
  • Des compétences analytiques et techniques bien développées, ainsi que d'excellentes compétences en communication verbale, écrite et interpersonnelle pour communiquer efficacement avec les employés à tous les niveaux de l'organisation.
  • Une capacité avérée à travailler de manière autonome, en équipe et à établir des relations collaboratives au sein des équipes.
  • Maitriser le français et l’anglais à l’oral et à l’écrit. Rio Tinto est une entreprise mondiale et les fonctions de ce poste exigent une collaboration quotidiennement avec des collègues, des équipes ou des partenaires basés à l’extérieur du Québec.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Project Controller to coordinate effective project controls systems (estimating, planning and cost engineering), to forecast and monitor project costs for our underground projects at Kennecott at all stages of the project lifecycle.

This is a Professional role making a contribution through applying technical/professional knowledge to solve complex problems and recommend solutions, contributes to process improvements.  Excellent opportunity to showcase your leadership being a subject matter expert, implement best practices, work in a collaborative team environment, and provide guidance to cross-functional teams.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager and working in a collaborative community you will:

  • Creates, maintains, and reports on the project forecast and other project controls data. 
  • Identifies improvement opportunities for streamlining project controls work process. 
  • Coordinates the development of project control accounts and budget. 
  • Coordinates the setup and issuance of cost reports, including cost control curves. 
  • Coordinates the development of contingency and change management procedure. 
  • Coordinates the implementation of effective contingency and change management process. 
  • Coordinates the setup and implementation of project progress measurement practices. 
  • Coordinate the development of Final Forecast Cost (FFC) and proactive identification of risks and mitigation. 
  • Coordinates compliance with standardized processes, systems and tools. 
  • Manages the relationship with project control stakeholders internally and with contracting partners. 
  • Maintains relationships internally with the procurement and estimating groups to ensure accuracy in current trends. 
  • Proactively analyses and report budget and cost variations. 
  • Provides technical support to project stakeholders. 
  • Utilizes the guidance and protocols for project controls in the capital projects framework.

What you’ll bring

To succeed in role you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business-related discipline or other combination of education and experience will be considered
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as project cost controller and major construction projects
  • Previous employment with a tier 1 EPC or EPCM contractor is a plus
  • Demonstrated skills in cost control, understanding of planning and scheduling, estimation, risk activities, within a project management environment
  • Strong people skills, with the ability to work with all stakeholders and contractors
  • Capable to work in challenging environments, and maintain effective time management skills
  • Well-developed analytical and technical competencies, excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to operate independently, within a team, and build collaborative relationships within teams
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company, and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec.
