About the role

We are looking for a Shift Supervisor: Laboratory to supervise the activities of a shift team to optimize operations in accordance with predetermined procedures, programmes and standards
Reporting to the Supervisor: Laboratory, your responsibilities will include:

Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Superintendent.

Conducting shift hand-over with the outgoing shift supervisor before starting the shift and with the incoming supervisor before ending the shift.

Inspect (and correct of deviations) Lab operational area at the beginning and at the end of the shift.

Supervise and control the activities, standards of performance and behavior of staff to ensure that the correct procedures are followed and for analysis of samples to achieve turnaround time (TAT) and accuracy of analysis results targets.

Conducting Critical Risk Field Verifications (CCFVs)

Conduct toolbox talks and walkabouts (LIF) to identify housekeeping needs toward ensuring safe and effective operations.

Sample collection.

Draft and collaborate reports related to sample TAT, accuracy of results, control of analysis programs, staff management, safety and status of equipment.
What you’ll bring

Matric with Core Mathematics and Physical Science – (Attach certificate)
-
National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (Advantageous) – (Attach certificate)
-
Quality Management related tertiary qualification would be advantageous.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Laboratory.

Valid South African Driver’s License – (Attach certificate)
-
3 years RBM Laboratory experience. Advanced skills in testing, diagnosing and repair of automotive electrical systems

Proficient in computer skills, excel, word, power point.
