Nous sommes à la recherche d’un (e) Géologue qui sera chargé(e) de superviser et de décrire les échantillons pendant le programme du forage destructif à circulation inverse et celui carottant qui incorpore la description et l’échantillonnage géotechnique, mais aussi S’assurer que toutes les activités d’entreprises sont bien conçues, planifiées et exécutées conformément au système de sécurité de Rio Tinto, ainsi qu’aux exigences locales.

Sous la Responsabilité du Surintendant Resources Geology, vous serez chargé (e) de ce qui suit :
- Assurer la description des échantillons et la supervision des sondeuses carottant et RC en s’assurant que toutes les descriptions géologiques, géotechniques, géophysique et hydrogéologie sont complétées selon les normes HSEC,
- S’assurer de l’efficacité, de l’acquisition et de l’analyse des échantillons à travers le QAQC, la validation des informations du terrain et un rapport complet, comme exigé, tout en procédant à la mise à jour régulière des coupes transversales et l’interprétation des coupes qui donne les informations utilisées pour mettre à jour la planification de forage,
- Fournir des conseils et servir de guide aux géologues juniors et à l’équipe de soutien technique pour développer leurs compétences professionnelles et leur expérience,
- Contribuer à la modélisation de ressources minérales dans les délais convenus, tout en développant et maintenant la culture de l’amélioration continue dans l’évaluation et l’exploration géologique,
- S’assurer que les copies des coupes transversales de terrain sont disponibles sur toutes les plateformes de forage, et le programme de forage est constamment mis à jour sur la base de la disponibilité des données des trous adjacents et la cartographie,
- S’assurer que toutes les données sont correctement validées et sont entrées dans la base de données, mais aussi que le rapport mensuel QAQC des données pour le projet est fait,
- Réagir immédiatement aux problèmes soulevés dans le rapport QAQC tout en contribuant aux processus de modélisation à travers l’interprétation des données, afin de permettre la remise à l’équipe de planification de la mine.
- Procéder à une bonne planification et coordination de plan de forage dans le respect strict des procédures et normes de santé/sécurité
Ce que vous apporterez :
- Avoir un master en Géologie ou discipline connexe et disposer de 3 à 5 ans d’expérience en géologie de préférence dans un environnement multiculturel,
- Avoir une bonne compréhension du concept géologique, les méthodes et les processus d’acquisition des échantillons
- Avoir une bonne connaissance de la suite office (Word, Excel, Power Point, …) et une excellente aptitude verbale, écrites et interpersonnelles,
- Avoir le sens de résolution des problèmes et les compétences analytiques ainsi que de planification
- Avoir une bonne compréhension des opérations d'exploration et d'exploitation minière ainsi que de fortes compétences en gestion des relations et coordination
- Une bonne planification et coordination de plan de forage dans le respect stricte des procédures et normes de santé et sécurité.
- Être familier avec acQuire, Geobank, Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac, Arcgis, QGIS ou Datashed

About the Simandou Project
The Simandou Iron Ore Project is located in the Republic of Guinea, West Africa. It is Africa’s largest infrastructure and mining project and represents one of the largest known reserves of high-grade iron ore in the world.
Rio Tinto holds rights to Simandou Blocks 3 and 4 through SimFer, a joint venture between the Government of the Republic of Guinea, Rio Tinto and Chalco Iron Ore Holdings (CIOH). Construction of the mine, together with the associated rail and port infrastructure, is well underway with first production from the SimFer mine expected in 2025.
