About the role
The dynamic role of HSEC Systems and Reporting Senior Advisor is responsible for leading the support and governance of the Copper Health, Safety, Environment, and Communities Management System and associated systems, tools, and reporting activities across the Copper product group.
This role provides an opportunity to be a leading and influencing member of the Copper HSEC team. Supporting both the Copper product group globally and the Copper HSEC Asset teams at our Kennecott, Resolution, Oyu Tolgoi, Nuton and Copper Growth Assets. This role will report directly to the Business Partner Health and Safety. key accountabilities of this role include:
- Lead Copper-wide HSEC data, systems, tools and reporting governance, defining standards, controls and reporting cadences that ensure consistency, auditability, and comparability across assets, projects, systems, and reporting processes.
- Own Copper‑level HSEC management system , driving system and process improvements that enable streamlined inputs, reduced rework, and reliable, decision‑useful reporting and ESG disclosures.
- Maintain internal HSEC procedures and document control, including review and update cycles for the document management system, aligned with Group requirements, industry practice, and regulated regional requirements
- Lead Copper’s HSEC systems and reporting transformation agenda, while partnering with asset teams, SD&T, SMEs to translate system and data requirements into practical Copper‑specific guidance and replicate good practice across the portfolio.
- Coordinate Copper‑wide HSES risk reporting by working with Risk, SMEs, and asset teams to consolidate risk data, analyze trends and drivers, and elevate material issues for PG visibility and action.
- Shape and maintain the Copper HSEC system strategy with input from SMEs, ensuring alignment with asset needs, Copper priorities and Group HSES requirements Standardize, analyze, and interpret HSEC data (e.g., taxonomies, trends, actions, incidents, critical risk management, and compliance) to improve visibility of performance, trends, and weak signals, and to enable timely, decision-useful reporting.
- Provide targeted, scalable capability uplift through a “train-the-trainer” approach, enabling assets to build internal expertise in data standards, reporting, systems, and performance analytics.
- Administer and enable adoption of core HSEC systems and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Databank, Archer, Enablon, Forwood, SafeDay, Element), including user enablement, data quality support, and issue triage/escalation.
- Develop and implement project plans, road maps, and priorities to align delivery of HSEC systems, processes, reporting, and services across the Copper Product Group.
- Coordinate PG-level Management of Change (MoC) for new standards, processes, reporting needs, and system changes, ensuring clear guidance and alignment while enabling asset HSES leads to manage and implement the changes at a site level.
What you will need for this role
To be successfully considered for this role, it is essential you demonstrate
- Extensive experience and a proven track record in HSEC systems on a large complex site or project or as part of a Global organization / role
- Demonstrated leadership and people engagement skills with a strong tendency for collaboration and identifying replication opportunities.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dispersed, multi‑disciplinary team environment, building productive relationships across functions, assets and time zones
- Have the courage to speak out and challenge when things don’t feel right.
- Have the courage to take acceptable risks and learn from your mistakes.
- Be curious and offer solutions, not problems, by doing what you say you will do.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Sciences, or a related field, and 5 years of related work experience in advising on Health, Safety, Environment Practices in the mining or processing field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, translating technical information for the target audience.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, and confidence to operate at all levels of the business.

Where you’ll be working
This role will be located predominantly at our daybreak office, Salt Lake City (Utah). The Copper product group spans a global footprint so a hybrid / flexible working arrangement will be provided. You will be expected work effectively across multiple time zones and locations (including the Americas, Australia, and Mongolia), with some work outside of standard business hours being required.
