La persona que ocupe el rol de Senior Project Geologist brindará soporte al desarrollo geológico de los proyectos en Comita y en el paquete de concesiones en Colombia. El rol estará enfocado en el trabajo de campo, la interpretación geológica y la preparación de información clave que permita identificar oportunidades de exploración.
Responsabilidades y áreas clave de enfoque
- Realizar interpretación de datos utilizando software técnico a nivel intermedio/avanzado, contribuyendo a la identificación de estructuras del subsuelo y su relevancia económica.
- Integrar información proveniente de diferentes fuentes (pozos, sísmica, muestreos y observaciones de campo) para apoyar el entendimiento geológico del área de estudio.
- Colaborar con los equipos de perforación para proponer y evaluar ubicaciones preliminares de pozos o sondajes, basadas en datos recopilados y modelos geológicos iniciales.
- Desarrollar mapas geológicos, secciones, croquis y otros productos cartográficos relevantes para actividades de exploración.
- Preparar reportes técnicos, notas de campo, análisis de riesgos geológicos y documentación de soporte para la toma de decisiones.
- Preparar datos y muestras para análisis, asegurando la trazabilidad y el cumplimiento de los estándares establecidos.
- Trabajar en estrecha colaboración con equipos multidisciplinarios (geociencias, geofísica, geoquímica e ingeniería), interpretando resultados y participando activamente en discusiones técnicas.
- Mantener altos estándares de seguridad durante las actividades de campo, cumpliendo con los procedimientos y políticas internas.
Lo que necesitás para ser tenido/a en cuenta para este rol
- Título universitario en Geología o Geociencias.
- Al menos 5 años de experiencia y conocimientos en yacimientos de pórfido de cobre.
- Participación previa en actividades de exploración, tales como mapeo, muestreo, registro de datos y apoyo en evaluaciones técnicas.
- Capacidad para resolver problemas geológicos de complejidad moderada a alta, con acompañamiento del equipo senior cuando sea necesario.
- Habilidad para trabajar de manera colaborativa dentro de equipos multidisciplinarios.
- Orientación a la excelencia operativa, con una actitud proactiva hacia la mejora continua y la adopción de buenas prácticas.
- Buenas habilidades de comunicación en español y nivel intermedio de inglés para comprender documentación técnica e interactuar con equipos globales.

About the role

The Senior Project Geologist will provide geological development support for the Comita Project and the broader portfolio of concessions in Colombia. This role will focus on fieldwork, geological interpretation, and the preparation of key information to help identify exploration opportunities.
Key responsibilities and areas of focus
- Interpret data using intermediate to advanced technical software, contributing to the identification of subsurface structures and their economic relevance.
- Integrate information from multiple sources (drill holes, seismic data, sampling, and field observations) to support geological understanding of the study area.
- Collaborate with drilling teams to propose and evaluate preliminary drill hole or borehole locations, based on collected data and initial geological models.
- Develop geological maps, sections, sketches, and other cartographic products relevant to exploration activities.
- Prepare technical reports, field notes, geological risk assessments, and supporting documentation for decision-making processes.
- Prepare data and samples for analysis, ensuring traceability and compliance with established standards.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (geoscience, geophysics, geochemistry, and engineering), interpreting results and actively contributing to technical discussions.
- Maintain high safety standards during field activities, in compliance with internal procedures and policies.
What you need to be considered for this role
- University degree in Geology or Geosciences.
- At least 5 years of experience and solid knowledge of copper porphyry systems.
- Previous participation in exploration activities such as mapping, sampling, data logging, and support for technical evaluations.
- Ability to solve geological problems of moderate to high complexity, with support from senior team members when required.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A strong focus on operational excellence, with a proactive mindset toward continuous improvement and best practices.
- Good communication skills in Spanish, and intermediate English proficiency to understand technical documentation and interact with global teams.
