About the role
We are looking for a Charterer to join our global chartering team in Singapore. This role will support the Chartering team and collaborate closely with various commodity business units to deliver safe, timely and efficient shipping services while navigating through a dynamic shipping market.
Reporting to the Global Portfolio Manager, you will:

Lead and negotiate charter contracts with shipowners and brokers to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.

Ownership of end-to-end contract lifecycle, including negotiation, execution oversight and performance optimization.

Actively engage with shipowners and broker networks to build and manage strategic commercial relationships.

Identify and execute third-party freight trading opportunities, including engaging external market participants, taking calculated positions and managing freight exposure to enhance portfolio outcomes

Contribute to market intelligence, including freight reporting and insights to inform decision-making.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize supply chain value, vessel performance and freight decisions.

Monitor and manage contract performance, ensuring timely vessel nominations and issue resolution

Develop and maintain a deep understanding of mine-to-customer supply chain dynamics.

Partner with Vetting team to improve safety and operational capabilities of market vessels.

Partner with Performance team to attain decarbonization targets.

Adhere to governance frameworks and compliance guidelines at all times.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
-
Bachelor Degree in Finance/ Economics/ Business/ Maritime or related field.

3-5 years of experience in a Chartering/Trading/Commercial role is strongly preferred.
-
Demonstrated exposure to negotiations and/or commercial decision-making.
-
Strong understanding of shipping markets is preferred.
-
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
-
Proficiency in Excel and IMOS systems.
-
A commercially driven mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
