Nous cherchons un(e) Principal Adviser Projects pour rejoindre notre équipe. Dans le cadre de la réorganisation de la trajectoire opérationnelle 2027/2028, QIT Madagascar Minerals renforce sa capacité d’expertise et de pilotage des projets critiques. Le rôle de Principal Adviser Projects est créé afin de reprendre et structurer des responsabilités projets de haut niveau, notamment liées aux programmes majeurs de remise en état industrielle (dont le Wet Plant Reinstatement), aux projets CAPEX & OPEX complexes et aux shutdowns stratégiques. Ce poste s’inscrit dans l’architecture des rôles Capital & Closure Projects – Project Management du Groupe Rio Tinto. Il apporte une expertise senior, transverse et structurante, visant à sécuriser la préparation, la planification, l’exécution et la performance des projets, tout en contribuant à la montée en maturité de la fonction Projects et au développement des Projects Leads.
C’est une excellente opportunité pour un leader qui a de l’expertise, de structuration et d’accompagnement. Le Principal Adviser Projects aura un minimum de projets à gérer afin d’aider au renforcement de la capacité de livraison des projets CAPEX & OPEX critiques et de sécuriser les phases sensibles (préparation, shutdown, redémarrage), en support du PMO.
Relevant du Manager Projet & Engineering et évoluant au sein d’une communauté collaborative, dans un environnement dynamique et multidisciplinaire, vous devrez :

Apporter une expertise avancée en gestion de projets industriels CAPEX & OPEX, en ligne avec le rôle groupe Principal Adviser I – Project Management.

Fournir un appui expert à la structuration et à la préparation de projets industriels complexes (CAPEX & OPEX). Valeur de projets entre 1$ et 10M$, complexité multidisciplinaire / Brownfield.

Sécuriser la préparation et la coordination des programmes et travaux critiques, incluant les shutdowns majeurs et projets de remise en état.
-
Renforcer la robustesse des méthodes, standards et outils de gestion de projets au sein de QMM. Déployer et adapter les standards projets du Groupe Rio Tinto au contexte QMM. Identifier et, le cas échéant, mettre en œuvre des améliorations des pratiques de gestion de projets.

Contribuer activement à la performance sécurité, coûts, délais et qualité des projets stratégiques, contribuer à la livraison de certains projets conformément aux critères scope / coût / délai / qualité, en tant que rôle professionnel autonome au sein de l’équipe projet.

Renforcer la préparation et la coordination des phases critiques (pré-travaux, shutdown, intégration CAPEX/OPEX) via une exécution rigoureuse et un pilotage des interfaces.

Apporter un support technique et méthodologique aux parties prenantes et contribuer aux améliorations des méthodes de livraison au sein du PMO.

Challenger les périmètres, estimations, plannings, ressources, contrats et interfaces projets. Contribuer à l’engagement et à la coordination des parties prenantes internes et externes. Appuyer la définition de scénarios de contingence pour anticiper et limiter les risques projets.

Diplôme d’ingénieur (maintenance industrielle, mécanique, génie industriel ou équivalent).

Langues : Français courant, Anglais professionnel, Malagasy un atout.

Expérience confirmée en environnement industriel complexe (minier, pétrochimique, métallurgique, etc.).

Expérience solide en accompagnement d’équipes projets et structuration méthodologique.

Expertise avancée en gestion de projets industriels CAPEX & OPEX. Solide expérience des shutdowns, remises en état industrielles et maintenance lourde.

Maîtrise des outils de planification et de pilotage projet (SAP PM, MS Project, Primavera).

Bonne compréhension des équipements mécaniques et statiques (structurés, réservoirs, tuyauteries).

Capacité à structurer des projets complexes dans des environnements industriels contraints.

Capacité à gérer les conflits, à prendre des décisions sous pression, à évoluer dans des environnements ambigus ou incertains, avec une forte résilience opérationnelle.

About the role
We are looking for Principal Adviser Projects to join our team. As part of the reorganization of the 2027/2028 operational roadmap, QIT Madagascar Minerals is strengthening its expertise and governance capabilities for critical projects. The Principal Adviser Projects role has been created to take ownership of and structure high-level project responsibilities, particularly those related to major industrial reinstatement programs (including Wet Plant Reinstatement), complex CAPEX and OPEX projects, and strategic shutdowns. This role is aligned with the Rio Tinto Group’s Capital & Closure Projects – Project Management framework and brings senior, cross-functional, and structuring expertise aimed at securing project preparation, planning, execution, and performance, while also contributing to the maturity uplift of the Projects function and the development of Project Leads.
This is an excellent opportunity for a leader with strong expertise in structuring and coaching. The Principal Adviser Projects will manage a limited number of projects to support the strengthening of delivery capability for critical CAPEX and OPEX projects and to secure sensitive phases (preparation, shutdown, restart), in support of the PMO.
Reporting to the Manager Projects & Engineering and working within a collaborative, dynamic, and multidisciplinary environment, you will be responsible for:

Provide advanced expertise in CAPEX and OPEX industrial project management, aligned with the Group role Principal Adviser I – Project Management
-
Deliver expert support in structuring and preparing complex industrial projects (CAPEX & OPEX), with project values ranging from $1M to $10M and multidisciplinary/brownfield complexity
-
Secure preparation and coordination of critical programs and works, including major shutdowns and reinstatement projects
-
Strengthen the robustness of project management methods, standards, and tools within QMM by deploying and adapting Rio Tinto Group standards and identifying improvement opportunities
-
Actively contribute to safety, cost, schedule, and quality performance of strategic projects, including direct delivery of selected projects in line with scope/cost/schedule/quality objectives
-
Reinforce preparation and coordination of critical phases (pre-works, shutdowns, CAPEX/OPEX integration) through rigorous execution and interface management
-
Provide technical and methodological support to stakeholders and contribute to continuous improvement within the PMO
-
Challenge project scope, estimates, schedules, resources, contracts, and interfaces; support stakeholder engagement and coordination; and contribute to defining contingency scenarios to anticipate and mitigate risks.

Advanced expertise in industrial CAPEX & OPEX project management, with solid experience in shutdowns, industrial reinstatement, and heavy maintenance

Proficiency in project planning and management tools (SAP PM, MS Project, Primavera)

Good understanding of mechanical and static equipment (structures, tanks, piping)

Ability to structure complex projects in constrained industrial environments

Strong conflict management and decision-making skills under pressure, with the ability to operate in ambiguous or uncertain environments and demonstrate high operational resilience
