About the role
We are seeking multiple Service Persons to join our Major Works Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) team supporting shutdown and maintenance activities across Rio Tinto's Pilbara operations.
This role plays an important part in supporting the safe and efficient execution of maintenance works on our heavy mobile equipment fleet. Working alongside Maintainers, Coordinators, Supervisors and Contractors, you will assist with a range of maintenance support activities while gaining valuable experience in a shutdown environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Whether you have previous experience as a Service Person, Trade Assistant or within a mining or mechanical environment, you'll be supported to grow your skills and build a long-term career with Rio Tinto.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Supervisor Major Works MEM, you will:
- Support maintenance teams during shutdown and major works activities.
- Assist tradespeople and maintainers with daily maintenance tasks on heavy mobile equipment.
- Carry out servicing, equipment preparation and general maintenance support activities.
- Maintain a safe and tidy work environment while adhering to Rio Tinto's safety standards.
- Assist with materials, parts and tooling required for shutdown execution.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance, operations and contractor teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and safe work practices across the team.

- Current Australian Manual C Class Driver's Licence.

Helpful for Success
- Previous experience as a Service Person, Trade Assistant or within a maintenance environment.
- Exposure to mining, heavy industry or heavy mobile equipment maintenance.
- HR Driver's Licence.
- Forklift Licence.
- Dogging and Rigging tickets.
- Experience supporting shutdown or major maintenance activities

Where you'll be working
As part of Rio Tinto's Major Works team, you'll support the delivery of large-scale shutdown and maintenance activities across multiple Pilbara operations. Working alongside experienced maintenance and operational leaders, you'll play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of critical mining equipment while developing your leadership career in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
