We are looking for a Planner – Concentrator Operations, who can organize, coordinate, schedule and support all operational activities in Concentrator Operations.  The Planner will work with the execution team and help ensure tasks are carried out safely and in accordance with the department guidelines. The Planner will provide support, advice and develop daily work plans for a multi-skilled team. This role will also oversee the observance of production, maintenance, and operating procedures in accordance with Health, Safety Environment, and quality control standards. The role is responsible for developing plans and schedules for process plant operations that consider the full business value chain and deliver required business results including strategic, medium, and long-term planning.

What the role entails

Reporting to the Superintendent, Concentrator Operations you will:

• Actively participate in IOC’s safety program; role model appropriate safety behaviors (participate in safety observations, planned general inspections, accident/incident investigations, etc.) 

• Plan, coordinate and monitor the execution of scheduled work, unplanned emergency and breakdown work plans

• Determine sequence and assignments based on work priority and availability of equipment and resourcing, including ordering and expediting parts, as well as scheduling resources

• Coordinate unscheduled work with equipment downtime with Maintenance Teams and the Operations Center

• Be accountable to increase operational performance of equipment in areas through sound planning principals

• Manage Contractor management as required, ensuring safety requirements; timelines, etc. are being met

• Work closely with the Maintenance Planners to ensure planned jobs are within scope and provide feedback on work completed, work to be rescheduled, parts and materials

• Provide relevant information to be considered in development of upcoming work plans

• Plan and schedule regular Operational tasks

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Newfoundland Grade XII or equivalent experience 

• 2-5 years of experience in an industrial setting (preferably Mineral Processing environment)

• 2-5 years of leadership/planning experience 

• Driver's license Class 05

• Leadership training and skills in communications, time management, budgeting

• SAP Experience

Assets:

• Post-Secondary education in a relevant discipline (Trades/Technical/University)

• Previous experience in a unionized environment
