About the role
We are looking for a Specialist Planner – Long Term Planning to join our diverse and collaborative Maintenance Planning and Engineering team based in Perth Operations Centre.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a high performing team, with the opportunity to deliver accurate budgets and forecasts that are aligned to asset whole of lifecycle strategies and business plans for the specified Asset Class.
Reporting to the MP&E Superintendent – Asset Planning and working in a collaborative team environment, you will:

Utilise developed asset strategies, compile existing primary and secondary condition-based maintenance requirement for assets based on already defined tactics

Create long term maintenance forecast/projection for each asset life cycle strategy by using tactics to align major tasks with identified scheduled loss periods (MSF)

Identify maintenance strategy inefficiencies and manage changes via RCM based tactical improvements supported by the Asset / Reliability Engineers and Asset SME’s.

Develop material forecasts for the business and asset strategy

Review spares requirement and venders' ability to supply for critical assets
-
Complete major maintenance analysis (Historical Plan vs Actual analysis), including review of component, consumption quantities, and contractor labour requirements and realign tactics accordingly (primary + secondary)

Secure CEA funding approval for componentised items
-
Support decision making process on OPEX vs CAPEX spend for maintenance activities
-
Monitor accountable department budget vs spend
-
Review asset condition and history information for the development and management of the major equipment change out tactics
-
Consolidating major tasks into logically sequenced work packages & maintain a rolling long term forecast of major component change-out / replacement plan based upon asset class requirements

Improvements to Asset Class planning through standardization efficiency gains

Build strong relationships with site-based stakeholders through ad-hoc travel and regular communication
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

Tertiary qualification of Bachelor of Engineering or Finance or equivalent experience in planning and scheduling

A Current "C Class " WA Driver’s license
-
Experience in (long term) maintenance planning in the mining industry, mobile fleet / fixed plant / rail / utilities

The ability to showcase your expertise in financial budgeting & business analysis
-
Demonstrated ability to perform data analytics and interpret the information for key stakeholders
-
CMMS Maintenance modules proficiency, particularly SAP if you have it.

Advanced computer skills

Intermediate / Advanced use of MS office (Excel / Project)

An understanding of Mechanical systems

Workshop facilitation

Proven ability to communicate and present information at multiple levels of an organisation

Proven ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders

A proactive approach to problem-solving and a focus on finding effective solutions

Where you’ll be working
This role will be based at our Operations Centre in Perth. This role is offered on a 5 days on, 2 days off weekly roster, with flexibility where required.
Our integrated iron ore network is supported by our Operations Centre (OC) in Perth, a state-of-the-art facility that enables all the autonomous trucks, trains and drills at our mines, ports and rail systems to be operated from a single location.
The Centre incorporates visualisation and collaboration tools to provide real-time information across our demand chain and allows us to optimise our mining, maintenance and logistic activities across the Pilbara in a way never before possible. Located near the Perth domestic airport, the OC operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to coordinate our integrated network of mines, rail, and ports from 1,500km away.
