The Lead Planner – Closure Execution Projects role supports the Gove site for various planning, scheduling and forecasting initiatives and will deal with a variety of project stakeholders on a day to day basis.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager and working in a collaborative community, your responsibilities will include:

• Maintain and further develop the Project Master schedule as needed.

• Incorporate contractor schedule updates into the project master schedule and provide monthly updates.

• Guide site planners to ensure accurate and consistent progress reporting using the Quantity and Workforce Report (QWR).

• Prepare progress S-Curves, commodity curves, labour force histograms, Critical Path analysis, and level-1 schedule summaries to provide clear visibility on progress and schedule statistics.

• Provide leadership and influence without authority to site teams regarding setting schedule goals and performance targets.

• Coordinate with Engineering and Construction team members to ensure schedule targets are met and potential impacts are avoided or mitigated.

• In the planning capacity, prepare and lead the Project Services weekly and monthly review meetings with the project team.

• Present schedule updates, forecasts, and insights to the project management team.

• Maintain management reporting in IPP and provide schedule input to the Cost team to ensure accurate cost forecasts in alignment with the project schedule.

• Lead the reviews and analysis of Extension of Time (EOT) claims using the Impact as Planned method or other methods as directed by project management.

• Work from the site for one week per month to facilitate coordination and effective communication with the site team.

What you will bring: 

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

• Experience in managing complex schedules for medium to large scale projectsas well as integrating the contractor schedules into an integrated Lvl-3 master schedule

• Experience in managing and reporting progress using Earned Value techniques

• Experience in commodity and workhours tracking and reporting commodity and progress curves accordingly

• Expert in in P6 tools including resource loading of quantities, workhours and Equipment

• Experience in managing forecast schedules and developing mitigation plans

• Experience in directly managing and coaching a small team of planners

• Experience in managing contractors and maintaining accurate project records in the planning and scheduling capacity

• Experience in influencing contractors to maintain the required productivity, workforce and / or equipment requirements

• Experience in management reporting and the ability to summaries the project details into executive key messages focused on the big picture

• Experience in earthwork projects and field positions 

• Civil Engineering background is a plus but not mandatory for the role
