We are looking for a Principal Advisor Executive Communications and Content Creation Leader, who will serve as Rio Tinto Aluminum and Rio Tinto Canada global storyteller, responsible for sourcing and crafting compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. This position involves developing a variety of content formats—including blogs, newsletters, and videos—for both external and internal platforms. You will oversee the organization’s social media presence, manage executive social media handles, develop and maintain editorial calendars and distribution channels to ensure consistent and impactful communication.

This is a great opportunity for a creative, strategic individual who will work closely with our Global Content Creation function to maximize and amplify our contribution to the business.

 Reporting to the Head of Communications – Aluminium & Canada, and working in a challenging and exciting environment, a diverse team, you will be:

•  Identifying and developing engaging stories that align with the organization’s mission and values, effectively communicating them across multiple channels to enhance brand presence.
• Producing high-quality written and visual content, including blogs, newsletters, and videos, tailored to target audiences and optimized for various platforms.
• Developing content across channels, including speeches, and harmonising other work (if necessary for it to be produced elsewhere) to ensure a consistent tone of voice. Managing the personal LinkedIn account of the RTA CEO
•  Collaborating with executive leaders to craft messages that reflect their vision and the organization’s strategic objectives, enhancing leadership visibility and engagement.
•  Overseeing the organization’s external and internal social media presence, including managing executive social media handles, to ensure cohesive and strategic communication.
• Developing, planning, and maintaining editorial calendars, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and consistent content delivery across all channels.
•  Managing distribution channels to maximize content reach and engagement, utilizing analytics to refine strategies and improve performance.

•  Ability to craft clear, compelling, and audience-specific content across various formats and platforms
•  Demonstrated experience in managing social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, and analytics, to enhance brand presence
•  Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, editorial calendars, and deadlines effectively
•  Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to achieve communication objectives
• Proficiency with content management systems, video production tools, and analytics platforms to create and measure content effectiveness
