We have a Senior Project Controls position available for a professional who is passionate about tracking, scheduling, change management and adding value to projects.  This role is integral to Rio Tinto’s Modern ERP program, supporting the Project management office to exceed expectations of all stakeholders

Reporting to the Manager Project Controls and working in a collaborative community within our Modern ERP programme, the Senior Adviser Project Controls plays a critical role in ensuring that all aspects of the project are well-coordinated and that any potential delays or changes in scope are identified early and addressed promptly.​ your key responsibilities will be:

• Change management relating to changes to project scope, schedule and ensuring changes are documented, assessed for impact and approved 

• Deliver regular reports or dashboards to key stakeholders in collaboration with the Governance team

• Support the management of document management platforms

• Partner with the cost control team regarding changes to project scope, schedule, or resources so that they can be evaluated for financial impact.

• Work with various teams such as project management, business integration, governance and assurance and project commercial to support in achieving value

• Tracking decisions made in relation to key design decisions for the project via the various governance forums

What you’ll bring

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

• Strong experience in project controls for large-scale capital projects

• Adept with use of scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).​

• Strong attention to detail and reporting experience

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management experience

• Experience in SAP Activate

About Modern ERP  

You may know Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) by the name SAP or Rio Tinto Business System (RTBS).

What is our Modern ERP doing? We’re simplifying our systems and redesigning our core business processes across Rio to make it easier for our people to get their job done. We’ll be upgrading our SAP Rio Tinto Business System (RTBS) from old technology to a new version. 

To become Best Operator, we need to transform how we operate and how we use technology. A digitally enabled platform means we can access advanced technology, data-driven insights, and automation.
