We are looking for a Shipping & Logistics Operator to contribute towards the safe and efficient running of the Shipping & Logistics department. This role carries out multiple complex tasks involving both fixed and mobile plant daily and manages the material handling processes while working.

Working on the R2 Shift Roster your shifts will include 12-hour day/night shift (two-day, two‑night, and four-day off rotation), allowing you the opportunity to balance your work and other lifestyle commitments.

Reporting to the Crew Leader and working in a predominantly independent manner, you will:

• Engage and direct stakeholders (internal/external) across Wharf Operations;
• Assist the team in managing the Torbeds, Bath Plant, Metal yard, Coke supply, Alumina shed, Coke sheds, Landfill, SCL and other related processes;
• Operate Heavy Vehicles/Plant such as loaders, excavators, trucks, the ship unloader and the Bath Plant;
• Operate other Plant as required;
• Drive improvement projects as assigned by Crew Leader/Superintendent;
• Collaborate with other functions/departments as required.

What you’ll bring

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

• Class 2 Drivers and Forklift Licence (Class 3, 4 or 5 desirable)
• Proficient Computer Skills across SAP and MS Outlook
• Previous experience operating heavy machinery
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Proven ability to solve problems and analyse data in an autonomous manner
• Clear communication and strong stakeholder engagement skills
• A level of fitness that allows you to perform several manual tasks
