About the role
We are looking for a Specialist Project Engineer to provide engineering leadership across Sustaining Capital Non‑Process Infrastructure (NPI) projects through the full project lifecycle.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced and motivated project engineer to lead multidisciplinary engineering scopes and drive fit‑for‑purpose outcomes on challenging and high‑profile projects. This role is Perth‑based, operating Monday to Friday, with ad hoc site travel required depending on project phase.
Reporting to the Principal Project Engineer and working in a diverse and collaborative team within Engineering Management – Sustaining Capital, you will be:

Supporting Study Leads and Project Leads by providing project engineering leadership for NPI projects

Engaging and managing Engineering Service Providers, including performance management

Driving fit‑for‑purpose engineering solutions, including facilitating value engineering workshops

Ensuring engineering conformance to standards, specifications and governance requirements

Providing leadership through the coaching of project engineers and the application of sound engineering judgement

Engaging with stakeholders including subject matter experts, operations, asset management and delivery teams

Facilitating and participating in field investigations as required
About you
You are an engineering leader who can manage high‑risk engineering outcomes across studies, execution and close‑out, with a strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement. You will also have:

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

Demonstrated proficiency in project engineering, with the ability to challenge, influence and support engineering decisions

Significant exposure to Non‑Process Infrastructure projects within a relevant engineering discipline

Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to collaborate across multifunctional teams

Leadership capability, including experience coaching and mentoring engineers

A drive to continuously improve engineering practices across the project portfolio
