About the role

We are looking for a Senior Adviser Operational Readiness to help the Modern ERP Program deliver successful business readiness for SAP S/4HANA deployment. In this role, you will contribute to effective planning, coordination and execution of readiness activities across sites, Product Groups and regions, while working within a global transformation environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in complex programs and wants to influence successful go-live outcomes at scale.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Operational Readiness Lead and working within the Modern ERP Program, you will:

• Coordinate readiness activities across sites, Product Groups and regions to maintain alignment and delivery momentum.

• Maintain accurate tracking of cutover planning, training, testing, readiness actions and key milestones.

• Produce reliable reporting and readiness insights that support informed decision-making.

• Support Readiness Leads by managing plans, schedules, actions and governance requirements.

• Identify and escalate risks, issues and readiness gaps to the appropriate stakeholders.

• Contribute to consistent and inclusive readiness practices across diverse operational environments.

• Adapt priorities as program delivery evolves and support cutover and hypercare activities when required.

Required for Success

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.

• Experience planning and coordinating readiness, deployment or transformation activities in complex organisational environments.

• Strong capability in governance, reporting, coordination and execution-focused program support roles.

• Advanced Excel and reporting skills with exceptional attention to detail and data management discipline.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with ambiguity, changing priorities and tight delivery timeframes.

• Experience engaging with subject matter experts, operational teams and senior stakeholders across multiple functions.

Helpful for Success

• Experience within mining, resources, heavy industry or other asset-intensive operational environments.

• Exposure to SAP ecosystem solutions including SAP Signavio, SAP Concur or SAP S/4HANA.

• Experience supporting change management, training or business readiness workstreams within ERP deployments.

• Spanish language capability.

• Familiarity with persona-based workforce planning frameworks.

Where you’ll be working

This role is based in either our Brisbane or Perth offices, supporting the Modern ERP Program – one of Rio Tinto's most significant technology transformations. You'll be part of the Operational Readiness team, working across Product Groups and Functions to prepare the business for SAP S/4HANA deployment.

You’ll join the Modern ERP Program — a multi‑disciplinary team bringing together technology, process, data and change specialists to reshape how work happens across Rio Tinto. We’re modernising a 20‑year‑old ERP system and redesigning core business processes to improve safety, efficiency and ignite innovation.

This role may include occasional travel, giving you the opportunity to collaborate in person with colleagues and stakeholders across the program as it reaches important delivery milestones.
