We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Production Supervisor to join our team at Andoom (Northern Operations) mining team. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader who has a strong focus on people, safety and work management.

Reporting to the Production Superintendent you will:

• Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices and processes, whilst providing leadership, development and support to your team.
• Implement and monitor production operation plan to maximise safe productivity while minimising cost and environmental impact.
• Work closely with Development, Mine Planning, Fixed Plant and HEQ teams to ensure mine plan is met, and balancing the competing priorities to ensure the site achieves targets.
• Complete daily inspections of the pit and drive a positive safety culture with your team.
• Build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders to align on operational plans and strategies.
• Responsible for work unit training, safety compliance and departmental scheduling and productivity
• Undertake planning including execute and deliver on the day-to-day and fortnightly plan, organise and allocate resources according to work requirements

• Ability to obtain Mining Supervisor – G1, G8, G9 (formerly S1, S2, S3)

Where you’ll be working 

Our Weipa Operations includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, ship loaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals. Located on the Western Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland, each year the operation produces more than 35 million tons of bauxite. 

Our operations are supported by a 1,900-strong workforce—including 26 per cent who are women and 25 per cent Indigenous employees. Activities include mine operations, maintenance, asset management, ports, cultural heritage management, and processing facility management. 

This role is based at Andoom. The mine is located on traditional land. We work closely with the Traditional Owners to implement our agreements, ensuring that the benefits generated from mining support future generations and that important cultural heritage sites are identified and preserved.
