About the role
We are looking for a Haul Truck Operator to join the Kennecott Utah Copper team and contribute to safe and efficient mining operations.
This role is a great opportunity to further your career in one of the world’s leading open-pit mining operations. Reporting to the Supervisor – Operations, you will be:
- Actively engaging with employees in discussions and initiatives that keep everyone safe and promote the “Zero Harm” safety culture
- Receiving instructions from Supervisors and other leaders related to operating or controlling assigned equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Observing and inspecting equipment, material, gauges, and indicators and adjusting as indicated
What you will bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts (Both days and nights)
- A constant commitment to approaching tasks safely and intelligently
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- High School isbeneficial but not required
- Prior work experience in a mining setting

Where you will be working
Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter, and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum, and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
