We are looking for a Sourcing Analyst who will support several business units in the RTP Africa region. The purpose of this role will be to provide support to the Principal Sourcing on Capital Expenditure projects which contribute to the delivery of commercially favourable business solutions and delivery of optimal value to the Rio Tinto Business Unit.

Built around a dedicated hub in Singapore and regional offices in Chicago and Frankfurt, our commercial teams are entrepreneurial, fast-paced and highly specialised part of our business.

Reporting to the Principal Sourcing and working in a collaborative community within the Commercial Team, you will:

• Handling individual sourcing projects and contribute to value delivery through the deployment of Best Practices, procurement tools and negotiation skills.
• Engaging, communicating, and influencing internal and external stakeholders at operational levels (Superintendent, Manager, Company representative and General Managers) and also engaging and collaborating with regional and Global sourcing peers
• Providing analytical and commercial support to peers and to the Principal for Capex Sourcing
• Responsible for conducting and managing Stakeholder Relationships
• Reporting on handled sourcing projects to Procurement and Operation leadership.

What you’ll bring

• 2-5 years’ experience in Procurement
• Project Management experience
• Degree or Diploma (Commerce, Legal, Engineering)
• An appreciation and ability to grasp Commercial Law, BBBEE and Mining requirements.
• Familiarity or an ability to quickly understand a variety of supply chain concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Computer literate on MS Word & Excel
• Experience working on SAP & Ariba systems
• Experience in working within a multi-cultural environment
