About the role
We are seeking an engaging and safety-focused Supervisor Plant Shutdown to join our Fixed Plant Shutdown team at West Angelas to ensure the reliability and sustainability of Fixed Plant assets across our Operation. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to draw on your people leadership skills, coupled with your technical knowledge to effectively coordinate execution of work.
You will be leading Contractor Management and Shutdown activities in regards to our contractor vendor partners working across a broad range of assets, making this role both challenging and interesting. You will have a diverse portfolio looking after not only shutdowns and contractor management, but also long-term maintenance and capital projects execution.
You’ll be part of a friendly team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team.
Reporting to the Fixed Plant Shutdown Superintendent, the role will require you to:
• Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
• Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Fixed Plant Shutdown personnel and Contractor Management Representatives
• Organise and manage the preparation and execution of Fixed Plant Shutdown and Contractor Management work in compliance to the RT Shutdown Procedure
• Responsible for Fixed Plant Shutdown training, safety compliance, scheduling and productivity
• Manage Fixed Plant Shutdown activities to maximise productivity while minimising cost and environmental impact
• Define staffing and development needs of Fixed Plant Shutdown
• Ensure compliance to relative legislation, including statutory obligations
• Develop and roll out daily work plans that are consistent with work schedules and operational priorities
• Review new notifications and assign accountability for planning the notifications
• Manage key safety investigations, prepare reports and recommendations, and implement corrective and preventative actions
• Provide technical support, guidance and supervision to employees and contractors and monitor the quality and performance against KPIs
• Managing the engagement and performance of external contractor and suppliers and monitor the quality and standard of services
• Supporting the global contractor management governance program, so that there is a uniform approach to system use, data analytics and compliance
• Support designated leaders on contractor mobilisation procedures
• Pro-actively coordinate and support planned and breakdown maintenance where contractors are used
• Expert in maintenance systems such as SAP, Critical Orders, Warranty and Work Management
• Custodians for many maintenance practices, that meet work management outcomes where contractors are utilised

Where you’ll be working
Located 110km west of Newman, West Angelas operates on a fly in fly out roster from Perth, Busselton or Broome depending on the role requirements. Operational since 2002, it was the first site to be incorporated into our Mine of the Future™ programme, trialling autonomous trucks and drills that are now fully embedded into the operations. An expansion to the accommodation village, gym and recreational facilities on site offer exceptional living.
