We are looking for a Business support Officer related to the attraction, motivation, development and retention of people and ensuring that organization structures are effective, efficient and resourced so that the right people are in the right place at the right time at the right cost.

It is an amazing occasion to defines and manages the development and delivery of HR analytical reports to provide insight to HR and line management on people matters. Focuses on measuring and managing workforce supply and demand using business analytics to make optimal talent investments to meet the business strategy and mitigate against identified risks. Works with the functions to support the business case of making decisions from the analytical findings. Manages the accuracy and entry of employee data into the HR systems.

Reporting to HR and working a Monday to Friday schedule, the business support officer will :

• Manages internal job postings, employee movements and data management for BC Work’s hourly workforce
• Provides ongoing support to outsourced providers with knowledge updates including policy, information and general updates on annual cycle activities and key human resource initiatives to ensure ability to provide proper support.
• Works regularly with systems such as Workday and WFS; familiarity with Workday is preferred.
• Provides support to the human resources team with ongoing data and reporting activities and special projects as needed.
• Offers direct support to operational leaders and both unionized and non-unionized staff employees, acting as a key point of contact for workforce-related matters.
• Supports queries of a transactional/administrative for insourced activities nature for the human resources team.
• Supports issue resolution and performs human resource information system troubleshooting to resolve queries.
• Provides support for non-standard transactions and issues and work activities not performed through the offshore provider.
• Runs specialized report and perform routine data analysis.
• Triages any human resource information system issues that may arise causing flow-on effects to Payroll, Information Technology and other areas.
   

What you’ll bring

• 3-5 years of experience in a related field (HR, operations, etc.)

The base salary range for this role is $74,960.00 – 112,440.00 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
