About the role

We are looking for a Metal Supply Chain Analyst to join our Logistics team at our Kitimat operations. In this role, you will play a vital role in facilitating the day-to-day transport and logistics activities within our major project or applicable business units. This role is instrumental in ensuring the delivery of best practices, industry standards, and regulatory compliance within our organisation.

Reporting to the Logistics & Waste Management Coordinator and working a Monday to Friday schedule, you will be:

• Analyzing metal supply chain data to support production, shipping and inventory decisions
• Manage inventory control from casting through to sale to ensure accurate tracking of metal products
• Monitor and follow up on metal availability and volumes, ensuring alignment with customer orders
• Ensure that all available metal is properly allocated to confirmed orders
• Coordinate readiness for shipping and logistics execution
• Support the end-to-end order lifecycle, including order confirmation, shipment preparation and payment follow-up
• Monitoring and reconciling metal movements, volumes and forecasts
• Supporting planning and execution activities related to terminals, ports and logistics flows
• Preparing reports, dashboards and performance indicators for internal stakeholders
• Collaborating closely with operations, logistics, commercial and planning teams
• Identifying opportunities to improve data quality, reporting accuracy and process efficiency

About you

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• A tertiary qualification in a related field as an asset. A minimum of a high school diploma (GED)
• Experience in supply chain, logistics, operations or analytical roles, preferably in an industrial, metals or commodities environment as an asset
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel
• Ability to work with large data sets and translate analysis into clear insights
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
• A proactive mindset and comfort working in an operational, deadline-driven environment
• Strong communication skills
• A valid drivers’ license (at least a Class 7 “N” in BC) or out-of-province equivalent.

The base salary range for this role is $90,560 – $135,840 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
