Applications are now open for a Trainer with Track Dozer and Excavator experience to support the growth of Greater Tom Price Operations. We are seeking individuals with the right mindsets, values, and behaviours to onboard and develop our people. The technical training teams scope includes New Starter Onboarding, Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) training and Komatsu FrontRunner™ AHS training (desirable) to build the capability the Tom Price workforce.
Training requirements are defined by standardised learning pathway frameworks which incorporate the different levels of experience for new starters and existing employee ongoing development within each workstream. This is a great opportunity for those who have a passion in learning and delivering HME and AHS training.
Reporting to the Supervisor Training the successful candidate will:

Train and assess frontline workforce through one-on-one, infield, classroom, or group delivery,

Collaborate with on-job-trainers (OJTs) to facilitate in-field training in alignment with weekly training schedule,

Support with front line leadership,

Support the onboarding process for new starters,

Create a positive and engaging experience for new Rio Tinto employees.
What you’ll bring

Training Qualifications: Completed OJT (On Job Trainer) TAE (Training and Assessment Education) Units or possess the On Job Trainer qualification, with a demonstrated capacity to support diverse learning styles in achieving desired outcomes.

Mining Experience: Have hands-on experience in Mining with multiple types of Heavy Mobile Equipment, including proficiency with:

Track Dozers (essential)

Excavators & Shovels (desirable)

Loaders
-
Graders
-
Water carts & Haul trucks
-
It would also be beneficial if you have:

Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment and an On Job Trainer qualification

Experience working with Komatsu FrontRunner Autonomous Haulage System (AHS)
Where you’ll be working
This role will be based at our Greater Tom Price operation. This role will be offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or Regional.
Tom Price is located in the central Pilbara, west of Karijini National Park and is our original Pilbara mine, currently employing residential and fly in fly out employees. It is known as one of the most attractive towns in the Pilbara with a high school, two primary schools, a hospital and a high standard of recreational facilities.
