About the role
We are looking for a Senior Adviser to provide decision-making support for the Commercial Atlantic Portfolio team. Reporting to the Senior Manager Portfolio Metal Atlantic and S&OP and collaborating with different operating sites, logistics, procurement, finance and other support functions, you will lead the commercial strategy for the sales and marketing of aluminium products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Optimize Portfolio Strategy, Pricing & Execution

Optimize the short‑ to mid‑term ISAL billet, P1020/high purity from Canada NZAS, ensuring alignment between commercial strategy, market conditions, and operational capabilities.

Define recommended sell volumes, product mix, purity, and allocation to maximize portfolio value.

Recommend buy/sell price levels based on market dynamics, and margin optimization in alignment with the Senior Manager Portfolio Metal Atlantic.

Monitor and optimize portfolio value to capture arbitrage opportunities including: geographic arbitrage, time arbitrage, product arbitrage, physical vs. financial arbitrage, and logistics arbitrage.

Analyze and clearly communicate profitability drivers, risks, and trade‑offs to internal stakeholders.

Oversee contract tracking, amendments, and cancellations, and support the sales team on execution discipline and contract setup.
2. Position the Portfolio Across Supply Chain

Monitor portfolio positions, production availability, and value‑added product flows, adjusting positioning as needed to optimize outcomes.

Support commercial growth and customer development in the region

Strengthen coordination between customers and operations
-
Improve responsiveness and decision‑making as European volumes and complexity increases

Provide commercial and analytical support on market conditions, geopolitical risks, and negotiations.

Monitor book performance vs. Plan.
3. Production, Inventory and Execution Alignment through S&OE and S&OP
-
Manage and maintain detailed metal availability, allocation, and positioning across plants, products, and customers both for the 0-3 month and 3–18-month time horizon.

Track finished goods inventory and vessel shipments to ensure execution aligns with production and sales plans.

Support daily and weekly execution by ensuring metal quality, chemistry, and product specifications are reflected correctly in shipments and allocations.

Monitor changes to production plans, shutdowns, and constraints, and assess impacts on customer commitments and logistics flows.
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will ideally have:

University degree, preferably in commerce, finance or engineering

A master’s degree or MBA will be an asset

Experience working with large datasets

Effective communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization

Self-driven, results-oriented, motivated, and proactive

Team player with sound values and integrity

Strong analytical skills and critical thinking

English (written and spoken), Icelandic and/or German is an asset
