Acerca del rol
Estamos buscando un(a) Supervisor(a) de Operaciones de Proyecto para apoyar programas de exploración en Colombia. Este rol será responsable de supervisar actividades operativas, logísticas y de perforación diamantina, asegurando que se ejecuten de manera segura, eficiente y de acuerdo con los estándares de Rio Tinto.
Trabajarás en estrecha colaboración con los equipos de Geología, HSE y contratistas especializados para garantizar el cumplimiento de los planes de perforación, la gestión de riesgos críticos y la correcta ejecución de actividades en terreno.
Entre tus principales responsabilidades estarán:
- Supervisar actividades de perforación diamantina, verificando el cumplimiento de programas, parámetros técnicos y estándares de calidad.
- Gestionar contratistas y proveedores de servicios, asegurando resultados alineados con los requisitos de seguridad, productividad y medio ambiente.
- Coordinar actividades logísticas asociadas a campañas de exploración, incluyendo equipos, insumos, combustibles y soporte en terreno.
- Monitorear indicadores operativos y de perforación, contribuyendo a la mejora continua de los programas de exploración.
- Promover una sólida cultura de seguridad mediante la identificación y control de riesgos críticos, liderando reuniones de seguridad e investigaciones de incidentes cuando corresponda.
- Asegurar el cumplimiento de procedimientos corporativos, requisitos regulatorios y estándares de Rio Tinto aplicables a exploración, perforación y aviación.

- Experiencia en exploración minera y campañas de perforación diamantina.
- Conocimiento técnico de perforación DDH, control de desviación, recuperación de núcleo y procesos de QA/QC geológico.
- Experiencia supervisando actividades de alto riesgo en ubicaciones remotas o campamentos.
- Experiencia en gestión de riesgos y aplicación de controles críticos.
- Dominio de español y nivel intermedio de inglés.
- Sólidas habilidades de liderazgo, comunicación y colaboración con equipos multidisciplinarios.

About the role
We are looking for a Project Operations Supervisor to support exploration programs in Colombia. This role will be responsible for overseeing operational, logistics and diamond drilling activities, ensuring they are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with Rio Tinto standards.
You will work closely with Geology, HSE and specialist contractors to ensure drilling plans are executed effectively, critical risks are managed appropriately, and field activities are delivered to a high standard.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising diamond drilling activities, ensuring compliance with drilling programs, technical parameters and quality standards.
- Managing contractors and service providers, ensuring outcomes align with safety, productivity and environmental requirements.
- Coordinating logistics activities associated with exploration campaigns, including equipment, supplies, fuel and field support.
- Monitoring operational and drilling performance indicators, contributing to the continuous improvement of exploration programs.
- Promoting a strong safety culture through the identification and management of critical risks, leading safety meetings and supporting incident investigations as required.
- Ensuring compliance with corporate procedures, regulatory requirements and Rio Tinto standards related to exploration, drilling and aviation activities.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring a safety-first mindset, the ability to lead field-based activities and experience working in demanding operational environments.
You will also have:
- Experience in mineral exploration and diamond drilling programs.
- Technical knowledge of diamond drilling (DDH), deviation control, core recovery and geological QA/QC processes.
- Experience supervising high-risk activities in remote locations or camp-based environments.
- Experience in risk management and the implementation of critical controls.
- Fluency in Spanish and intermediate English proficiency.
- Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
