About the role
We are looking for 2 x Artisan: Electrical HT, to perform preventative electrical maintenance to achieve optimal plant availability by reducing downtime and breakdowns.
This is a great opportunity for a candidate that has a sound knowledge of Electrical Engineering Heavy Current that is developed through a combination of practical experience and formal training and can demonstratively apply this knowledge in the workplace. A candidate that is safety driven and consistently looks for new initiatives and ways of working, while preparing the organisation to accept change.

Reporting to the Controller: Maintenance, you will:
- Fault finding and/or repairs of power supply units
- Isolation and de-isolation of the Furnace 33kV Switchgear
- Earthing of 33kV Busbars associated with power transformers
- Isolation and de-isolation of 33kV capacitor banks
- Earthing of Capacitor Banks and Associated Busbars and Switches
- Uninterrupted Power Supply Units Maintenance
- Maintenance of electrical infrastructure
- Topping or filling Up Transformers and tap changers with transformer Oil
- Routine test run of emergency power system
- Re-closing of 275 kV breaker after a trip
- Re-closing of Furnace Supply Breakers after a trips
- Re-closing of 33 kV breakers after trips
- Earthing of 275 kV Transformers
- Isolation for furnace transformer 33 kV cubicle inspection
- Isolation at Eskom's request
- Conduct risk assessment for the task that are executed

What you’ll bring
- Matric (with Maths and Science) / N3
- Trade Test: Electrical
- Valid South African Drivers’ License
- 3 – 5 years, work experience in general plant equipment and High voltage environment.
