About the role
We are looking for a Project Coordinator to support the Modern ERP program across coordination, administration, onboarding, governance and facilitation activities. You will play a key role in helping the program run smoothly by coordinating activities across multiple workstreams, facilitating collaboration between teams, and ensuring people, systems, information and logistics are in place to support successful delivery.
This is a highly varied role that combines program coordination, stakeholder engagement, onboarding support, governance activities and operational administration. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting people and activities, creating structure and helping large teams work effectively together in a fast-paced transformation environment.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Senior Manager Project Controls and Services and working within the Modern ERP program, you will be:
- Coordinate key program delivery activities across workstreams, bringing together schedule, cost, deliverables, risks, issues, actions and dependencies to support successful outcomes.
- Facilitate collaboration across project managers, vendors, business representatives and global delivery teams, including Australia and Singapore, ensuring priorities are aligned and progressing effectively.
- Plan and coordinate meetings, design workshops, leadership forums and program events, managing calendars, logistics, room bookings, catering and facilitation requirements.
- Prepare and distribute high-quality presentations, reports, meeting packs and program communications, ensuring accuracy, consistency and strong presentation standards.
- Manage onboarding, mobilisation and offboarding for employees, contractors and vendors, including system access, inductions, travel profiles, equipment and team integration.
- Maintain key program systems and collaboration tools, including SharePoint, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, program access and information management.
- Coordinate travel, visitor management, vendor onboarding, purchase orders, asset requests and other operational requirements supporting delivery.
- Partner with project controls, reporting and workstream leads to track progress, actions and follow-ups, using program information to identify priorities and support effective decision-making.
About you
We’re looking for someone whose experience aligns with the key requirements below. You do not need to meet every “helpful for success” item to apply – if you bring relevant experience and are excited by the opportunity, we encourage you to submit an application.
Required for Success
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- Demonstrated experience in project, PMO or program coordination within a complex project or transformation environment, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Strong organisational and facilitation skills, with the ability to bring together people, activities and information across multiple teams.
- Strong working capability in Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint and Outlook, with the ability to produce accurate, well-presented program materials.
- Ability to understand and interpret reporting and program information and use it to coordinate activities, manage follow-ups and support delivery outcomes.
- Experience providing detailed program administration, onboarding support, meeting coordination and governance activities within geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across business, technology and vendor teams.
Helpful for Success
- Experience supporting technology, enterprise systems, transformation or ERP programs.
- Experience with SharePoint, Power Apps or Azure DevOps administration and access governance.
- Knowledge of Rio Tinto processes, including contractor engagement, travel management, purchasing and purchase orders.
- Experience supporting onboarding, joiners and leavers, system access management and vendor coordination activities.
- Experience coordinating events, workshops, travel and operational logistics within large programs or project teams.
What we offer
- Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you’ve helped the world progress
- Attractive compensation that is aligned to the specialist nature and impact of the role
- Flexible working arrangements
- A safety-focused and inclusive working environment
- Career development to further your ambitions
- Ongoing individual wellbeing support
- Flexible working arrangements
- Be part of Rio Tinto’s global Modern ERP transformation, contributing directly to one of the organisation’s most significant multi‑year programs
- High‑impact contract role where your expertise helps shape the future of Planning & Reporting across a global enterprise
Where you’ll be working
You’ll join the Modern ERP Program — a multi‑disciplinary team bringing together technology, process, data and change specialists to reshape how work happens across Rio Tinto. We’re modernising a 20‑year‑old ERP system and redesigning core business processes to improve safety, efficiency and ignite innovation.
