About the role
We are looking for a qualified Electrical Tradesperson to join our Main Workshop at New Zealand’s Aluminium Smelter.
The Main Workshop delivers maintenance and repair services for repairable spares across site services. Based at Tiwai, Invercargill and reporting to the Superintendent or Supervisor, this role offers an experienced Tradesperson the opportunity to join a close‑knit, high‑performing team, carrying out planned and breakdown maintenance and diagnostics across a wide range of equipment.
We require you to possess a high degree of flexibility and strong problem-solving skills to identify and conduct planned and unplanned repair and diagnostic work within production time constraints on a wide variety of equipment.
Tasks will include:
- Planned and reactive infrastructure maintenance
- Workshop crane and machine diagnostics and repair
- Contractor supervision for electrical project work
- Apprentice mentoring
- Positive, caring attitude to fit into our team environment
About you
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Registered NZ Electrician with a current practising licence and previous industrial experience is highly regarded.
- Ability to mentor apprentices with care and enthusiasm.
- Current New Zealand or Australian Drivers Licence.
