We are looking for a Drafter to support engineering and project teams by preparing, updating and maintaining technical drawings and design documentation. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys technical problem solving, attention to detail and collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes. 

This is a residential role based in Labrador City, NL; fly-in/fly-out is not available. Relocation assistance is provided if applicable.

 
Reporting to the Superintendent Technical Engineering and working in a challenging and rewarding environment, you will contribute to the successful delivery of sustaining and capital projects. 

What you’ll be doing 

• Prepare and revise engineering construction drawings, layouts and technical documentation using approved drafting software. 80% of packages will be structural and 20% mechanical.

• Interpret information from preliminary data, field notes, and sketches to create accurate drawings to support engineers and project teams.

• Maintain drawing records, document control processes and revision histories. 

• Review drawings for completeness, accuracy and compliance with technical standards. 

• Collaborate with engineering, operations and project stakeholders to incorporate design changes. 

• Assist with field verification and the collection of technical information where required. 

• Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting practices, standards and systems.

Required for Success 

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team. 

• A diploma, certificate or qualification in drafting, engineering technology, design or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 

• Experience preparing technical drawings in a drafting or engineering environment. 

• Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) in AutoCAD and familiarity with Bluebeam or similar mark-up software.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage drawing revisions and documentation accurately

• A minimum of 5 years of applicable experience is required for consideration for this role

Helpful for Success 

• Experience supporting industrial, mining, manufacturing or infrastructure projects. 

• Familiarity with 3D modelling software and digital design tools. 

• Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and document control processes. 

• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
