About the role

We are looking for an experienced Planner & Scheduler to develop and maintain maintenance strategies, equipment maintenance plans and schedules across a diverse portfolio of Utilities assets spanning multiple mine sites and the Tom Price township.

You will work closely with maintenance teams, operations teams, engineering and contractor stakeholders to ensure maintenance activities are planned, resourced and executed safely, efficiently and in compliance with statutory requirements, while supporting asset reliability and business performance.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance, you will:

• Develop equipment maintenance plans, maintenance strategies and detailed work schedules that align with operational priorities, statutory requirements and resource availability.
• Work closely with supervisors, tradespeople and contractors to develop executable maintenance schedules and ensure planned work is ready for safe and efficient execution.
• Prioritise and coordinate work orders based on asset criticality, safety requirements, statutory obligations and operational risk.
• Maintain planning and scheduling data within SAP, including equipment maintenance plans, work instructions, task lists, bills of materials and asset master data.
• Coordinate labour, equipment, materials and contractor resources to support planned maintenance activities across fixed fire protection systems, electrical infrastructure, water, wastewater and hydrocarbon assets.
• Monitor schedule compliance, work order performance and maintenance backlog health, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Partner with maintenance, engineering, supply chain and vendor stakeholders to resolve planning constraints and improve work management processes.
• Support the Superintendent Maintenance with maintenance budgeting, forecasting and cost management activities, ensuring accurate labour, material and contractor cost planning.
• Provide maintenance performance reporting and planning insights to support business planning, shutdown planning, statutory compliance and long-term asset management objectives.

About you

We're looking for someone with a strong maintenance and planning background who can work across a technically diverse Utilities portfolio and effectively engage with multiple stakeholders to achieve safe, reliable and cost-effective maintenance outcomes.

Required for Success

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
• Trade qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, or similar) with demonstrated experience in maintenance execution within a heavy industrial, mining or utilities environment.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler role supporting fixed plant, utilities, processing, infrastructure or heavy industrial assets.
• Demonstrated experience using SAP PM and maintenance work management systems to develop maintenance plans, schedule work and manage maintenance backlogs.
• Strong understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling principles, including resource loading, materials management, contractor coordination and outage planning.
• Experience developing maintenance plans and schedules for statutory and compliance-based maintenance programs.
• Demonstrated experience planning and scheduling inspection, testing and maintenance programs for fixed fire protection systems and other statutory assets.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and statutory inspection, testing and maintenance requirements relating to fixed fire protection systems.
• Ability to analyse asset performance, maintenance history and failure data to optimise maintenance strategies and improve asset reliability.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across operational, technical and contractor teams.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and maintenance cost control processes.

Helpful for Success

• Experience working across electrical distribution networks, fixed fire protection systems, water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment plants, hydrocarbon storage and dispensing assets, or similar Utilities infrastructure.
• Experience working within asset management and reliability-centred maintenance frameworks.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Microsoft Project or related planning and reporting tools.
• Experience supporting shutdowns, major maintenance campaigns or capital project execution.

Where you’ll be working

Tom Price is located in the central Pilbara  region, west of Karijini National Park and is our original Pilbara mine, currently employing residential and fly-in fly-out employees. It is known as one of the most attractive towns in the Pilbara with a high school, two primary schools, a hospital and a high standard of recreational facilities.
