About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Assurance Advisor to support a critical short-term project focused on payroll compliance, legislative alignment and assurance activities.
This role is suited to a highly autonomous professional who thrives in project environments and is capable of interpreting complex legislation, assessing risk, and delivering project outcomes with minimal supervision.
Reporting to the relevant project lead and working across Payroll, HR and Employee Relations stakeholders, you will be:

Leading and delivering technical assurance activities aligned to project objectives and timelines

Interpreting and applying relevant legislation, awards and enterprise agreements to payroll processes

Assessing compliance risks and identifying gaps between current processes and legislative requirements

Developing and maintaining obligations registers, control frameworks and documentation to support project defensibility

Performing detailed payroll data analysis to validate compliance and identify anomalies

Partnering with stakeholders across Payroll, HR and Employee Relations to drive outcomes

Supporting project design and implementation activities and producing high-quality reports and briefing materials for senior stakeholders

Identifying opportunities to improve controls, strengthen compliance and support sustainable project outcomes
About you:

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.

Demonstrated experience in technical assurance, payroll compliance, or risk/audit roles within a complex organisation
-
Strong capability to interpret legislation and translate requirements into practical, operational outcomes

Proven experience working in project-based roles with a high degree of autonomy and accountability

Advanced SAP payroll experience (or similar enterprise payroll systems) together with exceptional Excel capability, including data analysis, reconciliations and large dataset handling

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks, trends and root causes, combined with excellent communication skills and the ability to produce clear, structured and defensible documentation

Where you’ll be working:
Based in Brisbane, you will work within a collaborative, cross-functional environment, partnering closely with Payroll, HR and Employee Relations teams to deliver a critical compliance and assurance initiative. This role provides exposure to complex payroll frameworks and enterprise-wide processes within a large, global organization.
