About the role Â
We are looking for an Mechanical Maintainer to join our Mine Water Management / Dewatering Team at our Yandicoogina Mining Operation. This role is a great opportunity for safety conscious individual looking to continually improve and contribute to our culture and world class asset.
You’ll be part of a friendly and high performing team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You’ll work on a 8 days on, 6 off roster which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life. This role offers fly in, fly out from Perth or Busselton airports.
Reporting to the Mine Water Management Supervisor, you will include   Â
- Fulfill diesel powered generator servicing tasks and genset breakdowns
- Carrying out scheduled Dewatering Maintenance in areas including water supply bore fields
- Installing and servicing submersible and sump pumps
- Carrying out general maintenance and breakdown repairs for water supply bore fields
- Support the safety culture and ensure that the RTIO core values are always adhered.
- Responsible for identifying critical spares and maintaining accurate inventory for Dewatering
- Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures.
- Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices.
- Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties.

Where you’ll be working
Located approximately 95km northwest of Newman in the East Pilbara, Yandicoogina is one of Australia's highest-producing iron ore mines. The site produces unique Hamersley Iron Yandi (HIY) fines and operates a fleet of autonomous haul trucks and drills, supporting efficient and safe operations.Â
Yandicoogina is recognised for its strong culture of teamwork, safety, and innovation, with a pioneering spirit. The mine supports a fly-in fly-out workforce from multiple regional hubs, including Perth, Busselton, and Derby – enhancing accessibility and community engagement across Western Australia.Â
