About the role

We are looking for an Analyst, Maintenance Scheduling to help the Maintenance team deliver safe, reliable and efficient maintenance execution. In this role, you will contribute to improved equipment reliability, workforce productivity and schedule compliance by coordinating weekly maintenance activities, ensuring materials are ready for execution, aligning work across operational stakeholders, and working closely with tradespeople in the field to adjust maintenance plans in real time as priorities and conditions change.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Superintendent Asset Management, you will

• Develop and maintain achievable weekly maintenance schedules by partnering with Supervisors, Superintendents, Operations, and other stakeholders, while facilitating planning and scheduling meetings to align priorities, resolve constraints, and support execution readiness.
• Produce multi-discipline maintenance schedules with realistic timelines, identified constraints, and all required materials, tools, and equipment available for execution.
• Manage outstanding maintenance work and support effective backlog prioritization to optimize resource utilization and maintenance performance.
• Coordinate maintenance activities across Operations, contractors, and other departments to meet committed timeframes and minimize disruption to production.
• Coordinate contractor schedules and prepare work packages to support safe and efficient maintenance execution.
• Prepare and communicate maintenance performance metrics and key performance indicators to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Apply shutdown and work management best practices to support safe, efficient, and reliable maintenance outcomes.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities while supporting effective risk management across maintenance activities.
• Develop and maintain safe work procedures and standard operating practices by incorporating feedback and lessons learned from frontline tradespeople.

About you

Required for Success

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate competing priorities, engage stakeholders and translate maintenance requirements into practical schedules.
• Experience in maintenance planning or scheduling within mining, processing, manufacturing or other large-scale industrial environments.
• A maintenance-related qualification, trade certification, technologist qualification, engineering qualification, Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) designation, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience using SAP CMMS and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Helpful for Success

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools.
• Understanding of maintenance work management processes

The base salary range for this role is $76,480 – $114,720 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
