Where you will be working and living
Rio Tinto Weipa is located 900 kilometres north-west of Cairns on the Gulf of Carpentaria and has been operating for more than 50 years. Over time, Weipa has grown into a vibrant and diverse community and an important operational hub for Rio Tinto’s Aluminium business.
This is a Weipa-based role in a remote-area site location. This is not a remote working-from-home arrangement. The successful candidate will be expected to live in, relocate to, or be based in Weipa to support the operation and build strong relationships with site stakeholders.
Weipa offers a coastal lifestyle surrounded by natural beauty, cultural heritage and a strong sense of community. The region provides opportunities for boating, fishing, camping, exploring and participating in local sport, leisure and community events.
For finance professionals, Weipa provides the opportunity to work close to the operation, build a practical understanding of site performance and see the direct impact of your advice and analysis on business decisions.
