About the role 

We are looking for a Specialist Contractor Management to provide expert advice, assurance and governance support across Greater Nammuldi Operations.

Working closely with operational leaders, contractors and key stakeholders, you will help strengthen contractor management practices, drive continuous improvement and support effective risk management across the contractor lifecycle. You will play a key role in building capability, influencing decision-making and ensuring contractor management frameworks are applied consistently across the operation.

What you’ll be doing 

Reporting to the Superintendent Business Planning & Improvement and partnering with operational leaders and contractor partners, you will: 

• Provide specialist advice and guidance to strengthen contractor management practices across Greater Nammuldi Operations.
• Partner with leaders and contractors to improve safety, governance, assurance and performance outcomes.
• Build capability through coaching, mentoring and support on contractor management frameworks, accountabilities and best practice.
• Identify opportunities to improve contractor management frameworks, processes and standards, driving consistency across the operation.
• Support assurance activities, including diagnostics, audits and investigations, providing subject matter expertise and practical recommendations.
• Lead contractor performance and development initiatives that strengthen relationships, capability and value delivery.
• Facilitate collaboration between operational teams, contract owners and contractors to align delivery with business priorities.
• Drive continuous improvement opportunities that enhance contractor performance, risk management and operational outcomes.

Required for Success 

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and others.
• Demonstrated experience applying contractor management frameworks within a safety-critical operational environment.
• Strong understanding of contractor governance, risk management, assurance and performance processes.
• Experience partnering with operational leaders and contractors to improve compliance, capability and business outcomes.
• Experience supporting assurance activities, audits, investigations or performance reviews within a complex operational environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate insights into practical improvements.
• A current Western Australian C Class Driver's Licence. 

Helpful for Success 

• Experience within mining, resources, heavy industry or another complex operational environment.
• Knowledge of sourcing, procurement or contract management processes.
• Experience facilitating workshops, coaching teams and influencing change across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience using assurance, governance or continuous improvement frameworks to drive sustainable performance outcomes.

Greater Nammuldi Operations is one of Rio Tinto's largest integrated mining operations in the Pilbara, encompassing the Brockman 2, Nammuldi and Silvergrass mines.
