- Coordinate the people, equipment and field services that enable safe Greenfields Exploration programs across Australia
- Lead a close-knit Operations & Logistics team and broaden your experience across remote camps, earthworks, fleet, contractors and field support
- A permanent Brisbane-based role with varied office and field work, including travel to remote projects and time back in Brisbane between field deployments
We’re Finding Better Ways™ to provide materials the world needs, now and in the future. Our values – care, courage and curiosity – guide how we work and how we treat each other.
About the role
We are looking for a Supervisor for Operations and Logistics to help Greenfields Exploration deliver safe, well-supported exploration programs across Australia. You will provide frontline mentorship across a team of four while coordinating the field assets, equipment, contractors and practical services that keep projects moving in remote environments.
This is a wide and varied role that moves between planning activities in Brisbane and hands-on delivery in the field. One week you may be working with project leads to plan a camp set-up or earthworks program; the next you may be towing equipment, supporting fleet and generators, coordinating water or catering services, or helping solve an operational issue on site. Geology teams are your key internal customer, supported by strong relationships with project leaders, contractors and site teams.
Based in Brisbane, but involving significant travel to remote projects across Australia, field deployments can be up to two weeks at a time. This role would suit an experienced operational leader who enjoys variety, practical problem-solving, meeting new people and being part of exploration work in places few people get to see.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Superintendent of Field Operations and working with the Greenfields Exploration Operations & Logistics team, you will:
- Lead, coach and support the Operations & Logistics team, setting clear expectations for safe work, reliable delivery and effective field practices
- Plan and coordinate people, rosters, vehicles, equipment, camps and field services across multiple exploration projects and changing priorities
- Partner with geology teams, project leads and field leaders to translate exploration plans into practical operational and logistics support
- Coordinate camp establishment and field services, including water supply, catering, fuel, storage, critical spares and other remote-site requirements
- Manage fleet and field assets, including maintenance, servicing, vehicle tracking, safe storage and readiness for deployment
- Coordinate contractors and scopes of work for earthworks, rehabilitation and other operational services, monitoring safe and effective delivery
- Support operational compliance for hygiene, hydrocarbons, hazardous materials and other field controls, keeping systems, records and reporting clear and current
- Work hands-on when needed to support safe field execution, including driving, towing, refuelling, equipment handling and basic field servicing within your competencies and licences.
About you
We’re looking for someone whose experience aligns with the key requirements below. You do not need to meet every “helpful for success” item to apply, if you bring relevant experience and are excited by the opportunity, we encourage you to submit an application.
Required for Success
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team, with experience leading by example in safety-critical field or operational environments
- Demonstrated frontline leadership experience coordinating people, contractors and operational priorities in mining, earthworks, civil, construction, remote projects or another safety-critical field environment
- Practical experience planning field resources, equipment, fleet, camps or site services and adjusting plans as priorities or conditions change
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in isolated or remote environments and availability for frequent travel across Australia, including field deployments of up to two weeks
- A current Australian manual driver’s licence, and a current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s licence is highly advantageous
- Experience working across field and office settings with project teams, contractors and service providers, including clear administration, records and reporting
Helpful for Success
- A current forklift licence, or experience operating forklifts and similar field equipment
- Experience supporting remote camp establishment, earthworks, rehabilitation, drilling, exploration or field-service activities
- Experience around heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment, drilling rigs or other mobile plant, including towing, refuelling or basic equipment servicing within relevant competencies
- Experience coordinating exploration samples, field logistics or contractor scopes of work
What we offer
Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you’ve helped the world progress.
