Buscamos un/a Business Partner de Comunidades y Desempeño Social (CSP) que brinde soporte al área de Copper Growth & Development a impulsar un enfoque consistente y orientado a la creación de valor en materia de relacionamiento comunitario, inversión social y gobernanza del desempeño social en Sudamérica.
En este rol, contribuirás a definir cómo Rio Tinto se relaciona con las comunidades y grupos de interés a través de activos operados y no operados, fortaleciendo al mismo tiempo las prácticas de gestión de riesgos, integridad empresarial y debida diligencia. Reportando al/la Country Head Chile y trabajando en un entorno colaborativo y de alta influencia dentro de Copper Growth & Development, serás responsable de:
- Liderar la implementación de un marco integrado de CSP en los activos y joint ventures de Rio Tinto en Sudamérica.
- Impulsar estrategias de relacionamiento comunitario e inversión social que generen resultados sostenibles y fortalezcan relaciones de confianza.
- Fortalecer los procesos de gobernanza, control y reporte de CSP para mejorar la visibilidad de los riesgos sociales y de terceros.
- Liderar actividades de debida diligencia en materia de derechos humanos, grupos de interés y desempeño social en proyectos de cobre en las Américas.
- Colaborar con los equipos de HSEC, Legal, Finanzas, Abastecimiento, Desarrollo de Negocios y Proyectos para integrar los requisitos de CSP en decisiones clave.
- Influir en los equipos de liderazgo de los activos y en los socios de joint ventures para promover un enfoque consistente de desempeño social.
- Proporcionar liderazgo funcional y desarrollar capacidades a través de redes de CSP, profesionales asignados y equipos de proyecto.
- Apoyar procesos de permisos y desarrollo de proyectos mediante la integración temprana de consideraciones de grupos de interés y evaluaciones de riesgo social durante el ciclo de vida de los proyectos.

- Experiencia trabajando en entornos complejos de minería, recursos naturales, infraestructura o proyectos de gran escala que involucren múltiples grupos de interés y socios estratégicos.
- Capacidad demostrada para influir y alinear a líderes senior, socios de joint ventures y equipos multifuncionales sin autoridad directa.
- Experiencia fortaleciendo marcos de gobernanza, integridad empresarial, gestión de riesgos o cumplimiento normativo en entornos complejos.
- Dominio avanzado de español e inglés, respaldado por una formación relevante en ciencias sociales, gestión ambiental, estudios del desarrollo o una disciplina relacionada.
- Experiencia apoyando procesos de permisos, desarrollo de proyectos o toma de decisiones de inversión.
- Conocimiento de los Estándares de Desempeño de IFC, los Principios Mineros de ICMM y el Convenio 169 de la OIT.
- Experiencia trabajando con proyectos y grupos de interés en Latinoamérica o en la región de las Américas.

About the role
We are looking for a Communities & Social Performance (CSP) Business Partner to support the Copper Growth & Development business in driving a consistent, value-focused approach to community engagement, social investment, and social performance governance across South America.
In this role, you will help shape how Rio Tinto engages with communities and stakeholders across both operated and non-operated assets while strengthening risk management, business integrity, and due diligence practices. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and is motivated to influence strategic decision-making across a growing portfolio of development opportunities.
Reporting to the Country Head Chile and working in a highly collaborative and influential environment within Copper Growth & Development, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the implementation of an integrated CSP framework across Rio Tinto’s assets and joint ventures in South America.
- Driving community engagement and social investment strategies that deliver sustainable outcomes and strengthen trusted relationships.
- Enhancing CSP governance, controls, and reporting processes to improve visibility of social and third-party risks.
- Leading due diligence activities related to human rights, stakeholder engagement, and social performance across copper projects in the Americas.
- Collaborating with HSEC, Legal, Finance, Procurement, Business Development, and Project teams to integrate CSP requirements into key business decisions.
- Influencing asset leadership teams and joint venture partners to promote a consistent approach to social performance.
- Providing functional leadership and capability development through CSP networks, embedded professionals, and project teams.
- Supporting permitting and project development processes through the early integration of stakeholder considerations and social risk assessments throughout the project lifecycle.

- Demonstrated experience in Communities & Social Performance (CSP), community engagement, social impact assessment, human rights due diligence, and social investment programs.
- Experience working in complex mining, natural resources, infrastructure, or large-scale project environments involving multiple stakeholders and strategic partners.
- Proven ability to influence and align senior leaders, joint venture partners, and cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Experience strengthening governance frameworks, business integrity, risk management, or compliance practices in complex environments.
- Advanced proficiency in both Spanish and English, supported by relevant qualifications in social sciences, environmental management, development studies, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting permitting processes, project development activities, or investment decision-making.
- Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards, ICMM Mining Principles, and ILO Convention 169.
- Experience working with projects and stakeholders across Latin America or the broader Americas region.
